Most of the children we meet are not out of school because they want to be. They are out because a set of small, solvable things got in the way: no exercise books, no pens, no shoes, no uniform, a term of fees nobody could raise. Street to School removes those obstacles one child at a time.
We work school by school. Our team visits with head teachers to identify children who have stopped attending, then delivers what each of them actually needs — exercise books and pens, a uniform and shoes, and support with fees where a family cannot manage. Every child is placed in the right class rather than simply enrolled, so that the return to school is one they can sustain.
Getting a child through the gate is only the beginning. We follow up term after term, checking attendance with teachers and staying in contact with families, because the point is not a single day of enrolment — it is a child who is still in class a year from now.
